3. General Design Requirements
To ensure optimal print quality and avoid common mistakes, please follow these specifications:
Accepted formats:
- PDF, 600 dpi, CMYK color
- No color profiles (use Fogra 39 if avoiding color profiles is not possible)
Before exporting your final PDF:
- Flatten all transparent objects
- Convert all fonts to curves/vectors
- Convert all shadows and gradients to bitmaps
- Convert all bitmaps to CMYK before importing them into the PDF
- Ensure 3 mm bleed and crop marks on all sides
- Keep critical text and logos at least 3 mm inside the trim line

4. CD Side Design
The side (spine) of the CD must include:

7. Typography & Fonts
For all copy (small text, credits, back cover, and disc rim text), please use clean, legible sans-serif or minimalist serif fonts. Recommended options:
- Sans-serif: Gotham, Avenir, Helvetica Neue, Lato, Inter
- Serif (for contrast or elegance): Playfair Display, Freight Text, or Garamond
- Only use decorative and All-Caps fonts for titles if needed, not small text
Font size should be consistent across materials — typically 7–9 pt for credits and 10–12 pt for headings.
8. Vinyl Adaptation (if applicable)
If designing for vinyl, please include:
- [Catalogue number]
- Side A / Side B indication
- Center labels should use similar color balance and typography as the CD edition
- Maintain 3 mm safe zone around spindle hole
- Follow same text conventions (℗© text, SAZAS/BIEM, credits)
10. Proofing Checklist
Before sending final artwork:

- Fonts outlined
- Transparency flattened

- Colors CMYK and within safe limits
